I was born in 1982 in Taos, New Mexico. When I was nine months old, my parents moved to Sweden, where I spent my early years. In adolescence I returned to the United States, lived there until my early forties, and then moved back to Sweden, so my life and work have continually moved between these two cultures.
I have spent many years working as a psychotherapist, and while I continue in that discipline in some capacity, my current focus is supervision, teaching, and ISTDP-informed consultation. This work centers on practicing skills, looking closely at what is not working, and trying out something different in real time. Rather than focusing on diagnostic labels or treatment plans, it is organized around developing concrete skills in emotional awareness, communication, and decision-making that you can carry into your life outside our meetings.
In all of these roles, I aim to bring a quiet, steady presence, a practical curiosity, and a commitment to honest collaboration. I bring my professional background and a steady focus on what seems to get in the way of your goals.
Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my family. I enjoy being outdoors, bicycling, boating, taking saunas, reading about psychology and philosophy, and continuing to study the many ways people adapt to the demands of life.
